We took our jerseys off and stood in our positions for softball. We stood still like icicles, with goose bumps in the rain. The hooter sounded. The game was underway.
We pitched. We caught. They hit and ran. We did that about eight times before we finally got the opposition out and we went in to bat. We stood in the rain listening to the rules for batting and getting our numbers ready. When Shon eventually stepped up to bat, the bell rang! The dream had ended. It was my only game and I did not get a turn!
