Welcome to our class blog!

We are a class of year 7 and 8 students who attend a semi-rural school on the outskirts of Tauranga in NZ. We are excited to share our experiences and learning at Tauriko School. Check back regularly to see what we have been up to. We have a load of fun in our class and would love to share it with you!

Here Chookie, Chookie, Chookie!

Tomorrow, Friday 14th of September, Simone Anderson (Olive's mum & local artist) and Leanne Ruck (Jenna's mum) are coming in to help us to plaster our chook sculptures. Next week we will be starting to paint and decorate them with feathers etc. Today we discussed the need to do a little research of chicken breeds so each group can decide which breed they would like their hen/rooster to be. We are also collecting feathers from real chickens and recycled materials like coke cans for the comb and wattles.

Watch this space for updates! The finished sculptures will be displayed at our Agriculture Day next month.
